Case Background: 

Beritan Canözer, a camerawoman for shuttered Jin News Agency (JINHA), faces charges of “making terrorist propaganda” over her social media posts.

During the second hearing on January 27, 2020, Canözer rejected all charges against her, stating that none of the charges related to her social media activity were mentioned or questioned during her interrogation at the police station. Her lawyer requested additional time to prepare the defense statement.

The hearing was adjourned until March 25.

Due to suspension of all judicial proceedings since early March until June 15, the March 25 hearing was postponed to June 17, 2020.
